True Athletes Travel Camp launched in the summer of 2017.  The camp is led by Coach Doug Butte (Denver Christian track and field/cross country coach). The camp’s purpose is to teach, expose, and challenge student-athletes to embrace and execute an “In Christ, For Christ, About Christ” approach to athletics and to live out a sports culture which is “true”:  free from flaws and error, Christ-centered, and excellent. This is NOT A RUNNING CAMP, but an athletic/adventure camp for all athletes from all sports. TRUE ATHLETE camp participants will explore the beauty of God’s Creation in National Parks, complete fitness level-appropriate strength and speed workouts, and be mentored and challenged in his/her faith.

In recent years, the camp has gone to the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Craters of the Moon National Preserve, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and many other great places. This year’s final schedule and destination list will be available in early February, 2024.
